‘Let SCA stay‘ protests continue, following the news of a proposal put forward by Sydney University, for Sydney College of the Arts to be moved from Callan Park to a new Camperdown campus. There is general dismay at the proposed cuts to staff employment and to the offered curriculum. Call for independent review of Sydney College of the Arts
Some of the biggest names in Sydney’s arts community have written to the the Chancellor of Sydney University, Belinda Hutchinson, and Vice Chancellor Michael Spence in support of the Sydney College of the Arts. Organisers behind the letter are alarmed that while an immediate merger with UNSW Art and Design has been put on hold a future merger of Sydney’s three art schools has not been ruled out and say the art school is still in danger.
